Mario Lopez Shares Why His Third Child Is Already A "Miracle"

Last week, Extra host and Saved by the Bell star Mario Lopez shared some special news with his fans.

In a photo shared to Instagram, the actor's wife Courtney revealed she was expecting their third child.

"Oh BABY!" Courtney captioned the photo of her husband kissing her baby bump. "Here we go again..."

She finished off the post with the cheeky hashtags #LopezPartyofFive and #DebutinginJuly.

The couple already share 8-year-old Gia Francesca and 5-year-old Dominic "Nico" Luciano.

Now, Lopez has revealed why his third child is already a "miracle," opening up about the emotional trials he and his wife have gone through. Just last year, he says they had begun to accept that they would only ever have two children.

"If it didn't happen, it wasn't meant to be. Not part of God's plan," Lopez told People. "We have one of each [one boy and one girl]. But it got in there! It snuck in, towards the end, so a bit of a Christmas miracle."

While you might expect a couple who have had trouble conceiving to wait a little longer before making the announcement, Courtney had a funny reason to share the good news this month.

Lopez revealed that his wife "didn't want anyone thinking she was getting fat." (For the record, Lopez says his wife is "beautiful and wears pregnancy well.")

And the happy couple aren't the only ones eagerly awaiting the arrival of the newest Lopez, as you can tell from Gia and Nico's smiling photos in their "Big Sister" and "Big Brother" gear.

"At first they were like, 'Wait, what?'" Lopez remembered about breaking the good news to his kids. "They couldn't understand. It took a second for it to register. My daughter got very dramatic. She was like, 'If I have another brother, I'm telling you right now, I'm moving to Texas!'"

While Gia made her feelings very clear, Lopez says he and his wife will be surprised in the delivery room for the third time.

"We've waited for all the kids, [so] it's going to be a surprise. We're pretty old school, you know, it being the tie-breaker," he explained.

"It doesn't matter, to be honest, as long as it's healthy. We're just very excited. The gender reveal will be when it's born!"
