Even though Meghan Markle should be enjoying her time as the newest member of the British monarchy, she's forced to deal with her troublesome family.
In a recent interview, her father Thomas Markle admitted he lied to Prince Harry and told him "Maybe it would be better for you guys if I was dead... then you could pretend to be sad," before hanging up the phone.
The Duchess of Sussex's half-sister Samantha has also caused heartache, after she went on another tirade against her.
On August 12, Samantha lashed out against Meghan, claiming she lacks compassion for their father and called her a "greedy arrogant, deceitful fake humanitarian."
"There would be no just reason for her not to want him in her life, as he was good enough to use to make her everything she is," Samantha tweeted. "She should be grateful. Her diplomacy skills suck and are inhumane."
"If you treat your own father like this, Harry is next," she claimed. "Freezing people out is the best way of hiding the truth."
"There is no room for a greedy arrogant, deceitful fake humanitarian on this world stage. How dare she? Disgusting," she concluded.
However, one steady presence in Meghan's life has been her mom, yoga instructor and social worker Doria Ragland.
Who's Doria?
While the rest of her family is badmouthing her to the media, the former Suits star told Glamour magazine that her mother is her strongest supporter.
"We can just have so much fun together, and yet, I'll still find so much solace in her support," Meghan revealed in 2017. "That duality coexists the same way it would in a best friend."
A source close to Doria told Express there's nothing Doria wouldn't do for her daughter.
"She is fiercely loyal to Meghan and would never betray her like the rest of them. They are so close."
Growing up, Meghan's mother was also faced with microaggressions about her daughter's mixed-race heritage, but was able to shield her from any hurtful remarks.
"I was too young at the time to know what it was like for my parents," she explained, "but I can tell you what it was like for me"”how they crafted the world around me to make me feel like I wasn't different but special."
Meghan often cites Doria as the one who taught her how to be a "strong, confident mixed-race woman," and her friends agree.
"Meghan draws a lot of strength from her mother," her friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin told People. "Doria is classy, chic and confident, but not unapproachable. I definitely feel Meghan gets a lot of that from her mother."
And it looks like their bond is as steady as ever as it's rumored Doria will be joining her daughter across the pond.
"I think she will be going as soon as possible."
After arriving in London for Meghan's wedding, Doria reportedly fell in love with the country, and according to Express, the 61-year-old is "beside herself with excitement," about the big move.
"She is getting ready to move to London. I think she will be going as soon as possible," a source close to Doria told the publication. "She also fell in love with England and told me when she got back that it's somewhere she believes she too could happily live."
Reports say Doria will arrive in London next month at the earliest, and it's speculated her decision to migrate is partially due to her desire to be closer to her future grandkids.
"I think this has been coming for a while," the same source shared. "Even before the wedding she told me how she misses her Megs so much she would do anything to be closer to her, especially now Meghan will be starting a family of her own."
"I'd bet Meghan is just as thrilled at the thought of having her mom close, especially when she and Harry have children. Doria is going to be an absolutely amazing grandma."
