My 5 Favorite Things About HelloFresh

HelloFresh

Let's be real - who actually has time to cook? I usually start the week with grand plans, and a handful of instagram tutorials that look tasty. But for some reason it never works out. I work late and by the time I get home, I'm too tired for the fancy dinner I was planning to make. Sometimes I try, but I overcook things or they never taste as good as I imagine. I usually just end up getting delivery, which isn't healthy and burns a hole in my wallet.  So when my friend told me about HelloFresh, I was intrigued. They're a modern meal kit, not too fancy, and they're known for doing good food well, and they make it easy. You're supposed to be able to cook dinners in 30 minutes (some of them 20!), so I had to give it a try. I signed up for the Classic Plan - I've been using HelloFresh for about 2 months now and it's been great. Here why I love it.

I'm saving a ton of money by not doing delivery

Even if you order from a budget restaurant, delivery is expensive. Once you get your meal and maybe a side, plus the delivery fee and tip, you're looking at well over $15 a meal. When you break down the cost, HelloFresh meals are less than $10 a plate, and sometimes there are leftovers for lunch the next day- bonus!

I'm saving time I used to spend grocery shopping

Who hasn't made a quick stop to the grocery store, only to spend an hour wandering the aisles? Since most of my nightly meals get delivered to me now, I've been able to avoid this weekly time sink, and just head straight home from work.

No more squishy fridge produce

We've all been there, you come home, reach into the fridge for that zucchini you bought last week and... its rotten. Squishy, moldy, and now your plans are down the disposal along with the zucchini. Ugh. With HelloFresh you can avoid wasting money on food that goes bad before you have time to prepare it, because they only send you what you need for the meals you'll cook that week. And the recipes serve as a reminder to actually cook what's in your fridge.

I feel like a Master Chef

I'm no Gordon Ramsay - I'm more likely to burn a chicken than baste it. But the recipes HelloFresh give you are so easy to follow, even I could make them correctly. I felt like a pro whipping up Chicken Pineapple Quesadillas last week, complete with Pico de Gallo. Yum!

My food-stagram game has never been better

Imagine how many likes you'll get with that pic of the homemade Beef Ragu you made after work? Way more than your sad delivery pizza, thats how many.

If you can't tell, I'm a fan.  It's a convenient service and instead of over-trying for dinner, I have everything I need sent to me and ready to go. I've learned so many new things and really enjoy what I'm learning.
