Popular Stand-Up Comedian Dies After Battle With Leukemia

<div><p>Charlie Murphy, comedian and brother of Eddie Murphy died early this morning in a New York hospital at the age of 57. </p><p><a href="http://www.tmz.com/2017/04/12/charlie-murphy-dead-leukemia-eddie-murphy-brother/">TMZ</a> reported that the beloved funnyman lost his battle with lukemia on Wednesday morning. He had been undergoing chemotherapy treatment or the disease.</p><p>Charlie is most recognized for his co-starring roleon "Chappelle's Show" including one of his most memorable skits, the night Charlie partied with Rick James and Prince.</p><p>..."I'm Rick James! Slap!"</p><div><div><div><amp-youtube height="9" width="16" layout="responsive" data-videoid="Ybv94PHccIQ"></amp-youtube></div></div></div><p>Charlie co-wrote several of his brother Eddie's movies including, <em>Norbit, Vampire in Brooklyn and Are We There Yet?</em></p><p><!-- [invalid-shortcode] --></p><p>His most recent stand up tours included partnering up with acts like Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez and D.L. Hughley on "The Comedy Get Down."</p><p>Charlie is predeceased by his wife Tisha Taylor Murphy, who passed from cervical cancer in 2009.
