Despite dismissing the many allegations against him, R&B singer R. Kelly broke down in tears and had to be physically restrained during an interview about his recent sexual abuse arrest.
The singer, who has faced several accusations of sleeping with underage girls, holding women against their will, and even of operating a cult throughout his career, broke down in tears as CBS This Morning's Gayle King addressed his latest charges.
The first half of the interview with the "I Believe I Can Fly" singer aired on Wednesday morning, while another segment is scheduled to air Thursday.
Kelly, 52, told King he was "fighting for my f--- life" against the allegations, and insisted he "didn't do this stuff."
"They are still talking about you with underage girls. Do you still sit here and say you have never been with underage girls. Can you really say that?" King asked.
"I sit here and say this," Kelly said. "I had two cases back then that I said in the beginning of the interview that I would not talk about because of my ongoing case now."
When King asked if the singer had ever held anyone against their will, he fired back, "I don't need to. Why would I?"
"How stupid would it be for R. Kelly, with all I've been through in my way, way past, to hold somebody "” let alone, four, five, six, 50, you said "” how stupid would I be to do that?" he asked.
While King tried to change the subject, Kelly was incensed and refused to let up.
How stupid would it be for me, with my crazy past and what I've been through, oh, right now, I just think I need to be a monster and hold girls against their will, chain them up in my basement and don't let them eat and don't let them out, unless they need some shoes down the street from their uncle.
At one point, Kelly stood up and the sound from his microphone cut out.
Kelly's lawyer has pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of sexual abuse, and the singer was released from jail after posting bail last month - with court orders not to contact any underage girls.

He famously married the R&B singer Aaliyah in 1994, when she was only 15 years old. The marriage was annulled just months later.
Kelly was also acquitted of 21 counts of child pornography in 2008. The case revolved around a video that allegedly showed Kelly having sex with a girl as young as 13.
"For one, I beat my case. When you beat something you beat it. You can't double jeopardy me like that. It's not fair," Kelly said about his past brush with the law.
The many allegations against Kelly stretching back decades were the subject of a recent Lifetime documentary series called Surviving R. Kelly.
