Richard Pryor's Widow Claims He And Marlon Brando Were Lovers, But His Daughter Furiously Denies It

Vulture

In a recent New York Magazine interview, superstar music producer Quincy Jones revealed a ton of juicy secrets of the music and entertainment industry that not only shocked plenty of readers, but had a surprising number of people coming forward to actually back up his statements.

Variety

From his brutally honest comments about working with Michael Jackson:

"I hate to get into this publicly, but Michael stole a lot of stuff. He stole a lot of songs. [Donna Summer's] 'State of Independence' and 'Billie Jean.' The notes don't lie, man. He was as Machiavellian as they come."

To his ESPECIALLY brutal comments on The Beatles:

"That they were the worst musicians in the world. They were no-playing motherf***ers. Paul was the worst bass player I ever heard. And Ringo? Don't even talk about it."

The Beatles

To even the current conditions of the United States as a whole:

"We're the worst we've ever been, but that's why we're seeing people try and fix it. Feminism: Women are saying they're not going to take it anymore. Racism: People are fighting it. God is pushing the bad in our face to make people fight back."

However, one of his comments that caught a lot of people off guard was to do with the sex life of a particularly famous actor: Marlon Brando. To quote Jones:

"He was the most charming motherf***er you ever met. He'd f*** anything. Anything! He'd f*** a mailbox. James Baldwin. Richard Pryor. Marvin Gaye."

Well as it turns out, at least one of those stories might actually be true, but that's being heavily debated by members of Pryor's family...

In an interview with TMZ, Richard Pryor's widow (who he married twice), Jennifer Lee Pryor, confirmed that the infamous comedian did in fact have a romantic relationship with Marlon Brando during the 70s.

NY Daily News

In her statement, she mentions that the comedian, who was openly bisexual, would be "cracking up" about his relationship with Brando being made public. "It was the 70s! Drugs were still good, especially Quaaludes. If you did enough cocaine, you'd f*** a radiator and send it flowers in the morning," she said.

As reported by The Guardian, "Lee Pryor added that Pryor had written extensively about his sexual relationships in his diaries, which she says will be published later this year. The comedian, who died in 2005, was married seven times to five different women. He and Lee Pryor divorced after a year together in 1982, but remarried in 2001 and remained together until his death."

However, Rain Pryor, the comedian's daughter through another marriage, has not only refuted the claims, but blasted both his ex and Jones. She took to Facebook to comment.

Her comments about Jones were savage:

"Q, was once a brilliant music producer who is losing his mind, and decided to garner publicity for himself with a sensationalized interview; and because y'all think and equate Fame and Money with decency, you ate it up like thirsty dogs, as he spewed out a lie about my father who's not here to defend himself."

People

As were her comments about Lee Pryor:

"Then on top of it all, my dad's so-called-widow validated it, because she needs to keep legitimizing herself and tarnish our dad even after he's dead. She hated Q and Daddy."

What do you think? Were the two celebrities lovers? Or are Jones and Lee Pryor trying to stay in the spotlight by making things up?
