A former star of The Bachelor is asking fans for support while his son is in the hospital with a serious infection.

Sean Lowe, who starred in the show's 17th in 2013, and Catherine Giudice Lowe revealed that their five-month-old son Isaiah was hospitalized on Thursday.

And the couple want fans to keep Isaiah in their prayers as he recovers.

"His little body is having a tough time getting enough oxygen."

In an update from Isaiah's beside, Sean revealed his son has bronchiolitis.

"Long story short - we took our little dude to the pediatrician yesterday for a bad cough he developed and ended up in the pediatric ICU," he explained.

"We're still here and probably will be for a couple more days. Isaiah's got bronchiolitis and his little body is having a tough time getting enough oxygen."

Bronchioloitis is an infection that inflames parts of the lungs called the bronchioles, making it difficult for the patient to breathe.

It's common in toddlers and infants, but can sometimes be life threatening.

But Sean was determined to look on the bright side in his message to fans.

"He's not having the best time but the doctors and nurses have been great and we're just super thankful we took him to the doctor when we did. We're confident he'll be just fine but prayers are always welcome."

Catherine shared her own update from the hospital:

"Holding my little one so so tight. Thank you for all your prayers and sweet comments. I think they're working."

Update: Isaiah is "making good progress."

Sean and Catherine met and fell in love during Sean's season of The Bachelor, and were married soon after. They also have a two-year-old son named Samuel.

In June, Sean reflected on becoming a father for the second time in an interview with People magazine.

"I take so much pride in fatherhood," he shared. "I feel too immature to have a family sometimes. But our goal is to fill our home with laughter and love, and we do that every day."

And thankfully, Sean says Samuel is already a great older brother for Isaiah.

"Samuel constantly wants to give him kisses and Isaiah just lays there and takes it and never cries," he said. "He's such a chill baby."

"I think it will be so fun to watch them grow up together and be best friends."
