Prison Break fans rejoice, because Fox has officially announced its hit series will return for a sixth season.
The network confirmed fans's suspicions on Jan. 4, after Dominic Purcell (who plays Lincoln Burrows) alluded to the revival through a post on Instagram.
While there's no date set for the drama series will be back on the small screen, Fox Entertainment chief Michael Thorn appeared to be thrilled when speaking about the forthcoming season.
"We are developing a new iteration of Prison Break," Thorn said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.
"We just heard the pitch a couple of weeks ago, an approach to the next chapter," Thorn said. "But we don’t even have an outline for the pilot yet. I fully expect both brothers will be involved in the series, assuming that they’re all available."
"There’s a lot to figure out when you’re bringing back the cast of a show where they all have busy careers," he added.
However, since the fifth season appeared to tie up all of the series's loose ends, fans are curious where the plot line could go from there.
