For competitive people, there's nothing better than being a winner.

Whether it's just receiving recognition for coming in first place or winning a contest's grand prize, there's nothing sweeter than the taste of victory.

Over the years, organizations have come up with an increase in wacky challenges to entice the public, but it looks like Six Flags in St. Louis' latest competition has taken the cake.

The 30-Hour Coffin Challenge

In honor of Six Flag's annual Fright Fest, the amusement park is challenging six people to spend 30 hours in a "slightly used" coffin to win two 2019 Gold Season Passes and a Fright Fest Prize Package with tickets to the haunted house and Freak Train.

The winner will also receive a $300 cash prize and will be allowed to keep the coffin.

Named the "30-Hour Coffin Challenge," contestants will lay in separate two-foot-by-seven-foot casket, and will be allowed one six-minute bathroom break per hour.

Six Flags spokeswoman Elizabeth Gotway came up with the competition in honor of the festival's 30th anniversary, and said it's "the biggest response we've ever gotten."

"The thing I think people love to talk about the most is they get to keep the coffin," Gotway said.

"When I pitched it, some people wondered: "˜You think anybody will even want the coffin?' And I said: "˜Yes, I think the kind of people that do this will want the coffin.'"

The Details

If you're skeptical over this challenge, participants will be taken care of.

Phone charging stations with be available along with all meals, snacks, and drinks to be served in the coffin, participants must bring their own pillow, blanket, or sleeping bag.

And although a Six Flags employee will be present at all times, contenders will also receive random visits by "our Fright Fest Freaks."

Should more than one person complete the morbid challenge, the winner will be determined through a raffle.

If you're not one of the 28,000 people who've already registered, you can still register until October 3, with the coffin dwellers to be announced the day after. They will then have until October 6 to confirm.

The competition is scheduled to take place on location from October 13 at 1 p.m. October 14 at 7 p.m.
