"I've Already Had My Happily Ever After" Steve Irwin's Widow Opens Up About Her Heartache

US Weekly / Daily Mail

Who can forget the heartbreak we all felt when news of Steve Irwin's death broke.

The world-renowned wildlife conservationist was only 44 years old when he died after he was stabbed in the heart by a stingray. Steve was filming for his popular show on Animal Planet, The Crocodile Hunter at the time, and his absence has been felt by family, friends and fans alike.

After his passing, his family struggled to find ways to go on, but decided that the best way to keep his memory alive was to continue the bold work he started in protecting animals across the globe.

Steve was married to Terri Irwin for 14 years before his death, tying the knot only eight months after their first meeting. They knew it was love at first sight and were able to share wonderful years together with their children doing what they love most.

Years after Steve's tragic death, Terri knew it was time to move on.

As owner of the Australia Zoo, Terri doesn't have a lot of free time as is. While there have been many rumors over the years of secret romances, Terri has finally set the record straight on finding someone to replace Steve.

Despite tabloid gossip that the former TV personality was gearing up to marry Zelanian actor Russel Crow, Terri insists that the two are just friends.

"I think it's wonderful when people who have lost someone find love again, but I'm not personally looking, and I haven't been on a date in 27 years," Terri told People Magazine. "I've already had my happily ever after."

Though she hasn't been looking, it hasn't stopped other people from stepping up.

"I've had a couple of lovely women ask me out because they figured that's the case. But I'm content. I have two beautiful kids, a really full plate," she said.

Her children, Bindi and Robert, are both wildlife conservationists like their parents, and even have their own TV shows!

The children remember their father fondly, and know their mother is happy with the memory of their time together.

"My dad is still very much my mum's soulmate. And I think that no matter what, Mum always says that they'll always be married," said Bindi.

Share if you agree that no one could ever replace Steve in your heart!
