Vegan Bride Bans Family Members Who Eat Meat From Her Wedding

Weddings are a celebration of love, but they can also cause rifts between friends and family, especially if the bride or groom share a different view from everyone else.

Recently, we've come across a bride who lost her cool after a guest brought their baby to her child-free wedding, another who wanted to make her blue-eyed bridesmaids wear dark-colored contacts, and the Australian woman who ordered her guests to save $3,000 to cover the cost of her destination wedding.

Now, just when you thought that bridezilla requests couldn't get any more absurd, another Aussie bride-to-be is causing quite a stir for banning her meat-eating family members from her wedding.

Describing them as "murderers," the bride explained on a Facebook vegan group that her family tried to "guilt trip" her into letting them come to her "fully vegan wedding, even though they're omnivores."

"Just for some context, some family members were told they are not invited to my wedding because we don't want to host murderers," she added. "Our wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest days of our lives."

Instead of getting the support she was hoping for after sharing the now-deleted post, the woman got slammed by members who felt that she was going to far.

The omnivore-shaming bride was immediately called out by her fellow vegans, with many pointing out that this could've been an opportunity for her to show her meat-eating guests that a plant-based diet can be just as delicious.

"As a vegan, wouldn't this be a prime opportunity to prove that vegan food can be just as delicious as omnivore food anyway?" they asked.

"My cousin had a perfectly delicious vegan buffet at her wedding and all the carnivores had a great time so," wrote one user.

Other group members found it "ridiculous" and "messed up" that the woman labels her family as murderers.

"She is out of her mind," read one comment. "I'd be happy to cut her off of my life if I were the family."

As the backlash worsened, the bride wrote a follow up post to share more details about the circumstances that led to her extreme decision. However, she did not apologize for calling her family murderers.

"They have consistently attacked me and my partner just for being vegan," she said. "When I broke the news to them, all I got was attacked because I don't want the weight of having people that still kill animals (the very beings we are trying to protect) at my wedding on my conscience."

She added that she has tried to "educate these people for more than 2 years with no result" so she does not want to put up with them on her big day.

"I'm sorry if that makes me 'rude' or a 'b**ch' because I'm not compromising the ethics that I share with everyone here."

In a surprising twist of events, one of the bride's family members had already taken to social media to share her feelings about getting uninvited to the wedding where she was supposed to be a bridesmaid.

"What's the most f***ed up thing you've ever experienced?" she wrote. "I just got un-invited to a wedding that I was meant to be a bridesmaid for, because I'm not vegan.

"To make matters worse, this girl is FAMILY who I've grown up with my whole life," she added.

At this time, it's unclear if the bride has had a change of heart since her post went viral, but even if she does, I'm not sure this drama is one that can be solved easily.
