You Think Your Kids Are Safe At Daycare? These Parents Were Wrong

Leaving your child in the care of another person can be a nerve wracking thing. You never really know how they are going to treat your kid and it can be scary to think that something bad could happen. These parents had their worst nightmares come true when they found out what their daycare provide had been doing.

January Neatherlin has been charged with 76 counts of criminal mistreatment and 38 counts of reckless endangerment after leaving 7 children alone multiple times over an eight day period. The youngest of the children was six months old and the oldest was 4.

Officers set up surveillance after receiving a tip and they saw Neatherlin leave after parents had dropped off their children. The cops entered the home out of fear for the kid's safety and found them completely alone.

When she left them, it's reported that she would go to the gym and the tanning salon. Each time she left the kids she would be gone for about two hours.

This isn't the first time her daycare services have been under investigation. In 2014 she was forced to reduce the number of kids in her care after she was caught operating without a licence. Without a daycare license business can have no more than 3 kids. She was actually investigated again for the same issue in 2015.

She is set to appear in court on March 23rd and the district attorney John Hummel is planning on pursing a harsh sentence. "Nothing is more precious than the safety and security of our children," he said,"If the allegations against Ms. Neatherlin are proven in court, I will seek the maximum penalty authorized by law."

Due to the nature of this case, she is not allowed to contact her son without supervision and is not allowed to go near any minors.
