The game of poker is loved all around the world. Not only is it popular amongst regular folk who like to get their friends together and have a game of Texas Hold’em, but there are also a lot of celebrities who love poker as well.

So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at three Australian celebrities who love poker to get a better understanding.

1. Shane Warne

There is only one place to begin when talking about Australian celebrities who love poker, and this is with the late, great Shane Warne. Shane had been very open about his love for poker, often attending in-person events and enjoying poker via some of the best online casinos in Australia.

Before he sadly passed away, Warne spoke about his love for card games and how it stemmed from his family:

“A lot of people love to play poker here in Australia.

“I grew up with my mum and dad having card night on a Friday night, playing a range of card games.”

He also mentioned that he would play poker on the way to cricket matches:

“Because we’re a global sport, we play all over the world, and there’s so much travel. We’re lucky enough to have nice buses with tables, and as soon as we hop on the bus, bang – the cards and chips would come out.

“Occasionally it would be a six- or seven-hour bus trip, and we’d keep playing poker. During rain delays, the cards would come out in the dressing room as well, and we’d keep playing.”

2. Scott Prince

Former professional rugby league footballer, Scott Prince, became a face in the poker scene when he was revealed as the ambassador for The Star Gold Coast Poker tournament.

Speaking about this at the time, he said:

“I’ve played a bit of poker in my time, but I’m definitely going to have to practice my poker face!

“Poker’s really making a comeback, it’s exciting, and this new facility at The Star will offer a great place to play, whether you’re an amateur or a pro.”

3. DJ Havana Brown

Finally, we have DJ Havana Brown, who has taken part in a number of different poker events over the years, which have fueled her love for the game.

After an event in Melbourne in 2018, she posted the following on Facebook:

“Ok, so I’m slightly obsessed with #Poker now. Thank you to @hachemmanagementgroup for a great event #Allinforcharity… We had soooo much fun….Oh and I won the last woman standing for the second time running. I’m aiming for the overall win next time.”

Poker is a game loved by all

As you can see, there are a lot of different Australian celebrities who have fallen in love with the game of poker. The great thing about it is that everyone can play it.
