Ashton Kutcher Asks People To 'Pray For Him' After Making A Life-Changing Pledge

Ashton Kutcher rose to fame after appearing as Michael Kelso on That '70s Show.

He seemed to have it all: good looks, a great sense of humor, and a charming personality.

When the Hollywood heartthrob married his former co-star Mila Kunis in 2015, it seemed undeniable that he was living the dream.

The couple now share two children, and they're the most adorable celebrity family.

But behind that smile lies a man that has suffered his fair share of tragedy in life.

A Life Of Tragedy

When Ashton was only 13 year old, he almost took his own life so that he could save another.

His twin brother, Michael, who was born with cerebral palsy suffered a cardiac arrest that left him on his death bed.

Doctors told the family they could either say their last words to their young boy or continue to pump his heart to extend his life for up to a day.

Ashton knew that the only way his brother would survive was if he had a heart transplant.

"I'm standing on the balcony, thinking about jumping off, and my dad comes out and says, 'What are you thinking about?'" recalled Ashton, according to Hollywood. "I tell him. He comes over and says, 'You can't do that.'"

Miraculously, a heart donor was found that very day.

Ten years later, a second tragedy befell the actor: the death of his girlfriend.

When he was 23 years old, Ashton was dating a student named Ashley Ellerin, who was murdered on one of their date nights.

She was stabbed by a serial killer known as Chiller Killer. Ashton had to testify in court, which turned out to be a crucial piece of evidence to lay a conviction.

Now the 40-year-old actor has a mission in life: To make the world a better place by saving innocent girls from around the world.

"I got something you can pray for me about"

In an 2016 interview with the Today Show, Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford were interviewing the actor about his successful film career when Kathie asked a strange question.

"It's probably easier to talk about - what's not going well in your life," the co-host jokingly said.

Ashton looked down, and pondered for a second. "What can I pray for you about?" Kathie continued.

"You know what you can pray for me about - I got something," Ashton answered, his face lightning up. "When Barack Obama was going into office I made a pledge that I would start fighting human trafficking."

In 2008, the actor started a foundation called Thorn with ex-wife, Demi Moore. They build digital tools to help law enforcement crack down on human traffickers.

"I was watching six and seven-year-old girls being raped for profit. I said to myself, "˜I don't want to live in a world where these things are happening and I'm not doing anything about them.'"

So far, the foundation has saved thousands of victims and identified thousands of traffickers.

Now, Ashton is hoping people pray for him as he tackles his next goal:

"My next pledge is to eliminate child pornography from the internet."

Ashton Kutcher is truly an inspiration! Share his pledge and make a difference in the world.
