Campbell's Is Recalling Thousands Of Cans Of Soup, Check Your Cupboards

After discovering something concerning, Campbell Soup is recalling over 3,600 cans of soup. The recall was issued due to "misbranding and undeclared allergens." Apparently, the soup contains milk, which is a known allergen, but it isn't listed as an ingredient on the product label.

The soup has been declared a Class I recall due to the seriousness of potential side affects. Recalls of this kind mean that "there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death."

On April 20, 2017, Campbell was notified that multiple customers had complained that the label of the soup didn't match the actual contents. The label said "Campbell's Homestyle Healthy Request Chicken with Whole Grain Pasta," but the can contained "Campbell's Homestyle Healthy Request Italian-Style Wedding Spinach & Meatballs in Chicken Broth" instead. Not only was it a soup consumers didn't intend to buy, but it also contained different ingredients that could be harmful to some people.

<amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/campbells.jpg" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/campbells_GH_content_550px.jpg 550w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/campbells_GH_content_650px.jpg 650w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/campbells_GH_content_750px.jpg 750w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/campbells_GH_content_850px.jpg 850w" sizes="89vw" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>
Campbell's

The affected product is any 18.6-oz. can of "Campbell's Homestyle Healthy Request Chicken with Whole Grain Pasta" with Best By date of Feb. 13, 2019 located on the bottom of the cans.

The cans of soup subject to recall have "EST 4R" printed on the bottom and were sent to stores in Florida.

This is the soup that's actually in the affected cans:

<amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8.jpeg" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_550px.jpeg 550w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_650px.jpeg 650w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_750px.jpeg 750w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_850px.jpeg 850w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_950px.jpeg 950w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_1050px.jpeg 1050w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_1150px.jpeg 1150w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_1250px.jpeg 1250w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_1350px.jpeg 1350w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_1450px.jpeg 1450w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_1550px.jpeg 1550w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/f0f4d710-f5ff-484b-9335-004155929171_2-89438921af10750973ec43993610bff8_GH_content_1630px.jpeg 1630w" sizes="89vw" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>
Walmart

Although no health incidents have been reported in connection with the soup, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Safety Inspection Service (USDA) is strongly advising consumers to return the product for a full refund or throw it out.

Check your shelves for this soup and if you or someone else has experiences an allergic reaction after eating the mislabeled product, contact your doctor immediately.

Make sure you SHARE this post to warn others about this recall.
