Can You Remember What Made These Dishes So Special?

If you've solved any of of our quizzes about strange vintage objects in the past, you probably think you're pretty smart. If you remember what makes these dishes so special, odds are you grew up with some, or still own some today. These are Fire-King dishes, specifically the Jadeite dish set. Fire-King was a line of heat-proof glass dishware made by Anchor Hocking. Before the average home had microwaves, glass-wear that was safe to put in your oven was a pretty big deal.

If you happen across any of these pieces, you can still use them today. They're even microwave-safe, although they won't survive your dishwasher.

These days original Fire-King pieces and some collectors mugs can fetch hundreds of dollars, but most pieces are still pretty cheap.
