We all remember the classic novels where you get to pick how you want your story to end. If you want to go through the tunnel, flip to page 33, if you want to go back home and hide to your room, go to page 5. Well soon you may be able to make those critical choices with your favorite shows on Netflix.
Netflix has reported testing choose-your-own-adventure content that you could be watching and interacting with at home.
A source told the Daily Mail, "We're doing work on branch narratives so you are actually making choices as you watch. All the content will be there, and then people will have to get through it in different ways."
This could open up all new doors for how we watch TV.
"We'll see how it plays out. It's an experiment. We'll see if it gets much success. For creators, it's new territory," they said.
Netflix intends to run a trial with choose-your-own-adventure shows for children later this year, based on an established character and see how it all plays out.
With great original series like House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Daredevil and Sense8, there are so many opportunities to get viewers more involved in the show.
Finally, Barb doesn't have to be sitting alone by the pool and get taken to the Upside Down, she can finally get some more screen time like she deserves.
