I don't know about you, but being around a dog always cheers me up. They are such joyful creatures, and it's very difficult to be in a bad mood whenever you're around them.
A lot of us dog-obsessed people tend to joke about how the perfect job would be to get paid to pet dogs, but we all assume that it's not a real job. Well, apparently the dream is real and we've all just been missing out on it.
There is one company making dreams come true by granting one lucky intern the opportunity to get paid to pet dogs. Not only are they going to get paid, but they will get paid $100 per hour!
That's a lot of money to do something you love! So, obviously each and every one of you will want to apply, so here's everything you need to know.
MUTTS Canine Cantina
The company that has created the world's best job is called MUTTS Canine Cantina. It's an off-leash dog park and restaurant, allowing people to bring their pets with them to play while they get some yummy food.
Sounds perfect so far, right?
The current location is in Dallas, Texas, but now they are opening up a second MUTTS Canine Cantina in Fort Worth and that's why they need the intern.
But... is it a trick?
The first thing I wondered was "what's the catch?" but apparently this job is as good as it sounds.
MUTTS' owner Kyle Noonan explained what they are looking for, explaining that it's basically a greeter for the dogs, helping to make sure the dogs are comfortable and happy while their owners go ahead and order food and drinks. It's basically like being the hostess or maí®tre d' for the dogs.
They are calling the position an internship, or a "Puptern" and they are hoping that the position is helpful to their restaurant.
"We'll pick one person to start and depending, we might have a couple down the road," Noonan said. "That's if we find enough great candidates."
How do you get the internship?
The company is accepting applications over Instagram, and all you have to do is show them your skills. Here's what their job posting said:
"Show us your puppy petting skills! Do you have what it takes to be the first-ever MUTTS Puptern at our brand new location in Fort Worth?Post a photo or video by 11/12 that shows us your puppy petting skills and use #MUTTSpuptern and tag [Mutts Cantina] for a chance to be hired as our Puptern and get PAID $100 per hour to pet puppies at our new location!"
They said "creativity is encouraged" and you've got to tell them why you should have this job in the caption.
The competition is going to get fierce!
People have already started sending in their applications, but there is still time to apply. Their only condition is that you live within commuting distance to their new Fort Worth location, and obviously that you love dogs.
