Dad's 'Odd' Tattoo Represents A Heartbreaking Story

Every father makes a promise to their son. A promise to protect, a promise to care, and a promise to be the best parent you can be.

For Brad Kearns, making that promise was all he ever wanted. He made it to his first son, Buddy, before he was even born.

Heartbreak struck for Brad when his son Buddy was stillborn. He would not be able to teach his son how to kick a ball, but that didn't mean his promise was broken. Brad shared an emotional post on Facebook about his son's death and how it doesn't make him any less of a father.

While at first glance, it just seems like an odd set of hands on his chest, the story behind Hearns's tattoo is much more than that. It garnered a lot of positive responses online, and even sparked a movement called #TellYourStory, where Brad encourages people who have suffered loss to open up about their grief.
