Eva Longoria Gives Birth To First Child And You'll Fall In Love With His Sweet Name

Hello! Magazine

Congratulations are in order for Eva Longoria and her husband José "Pepe" Bastón as they welcomed their son into the world on June 19.

Santiago Enrique was born at the widely popular Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, weighing in at 6 lbs.13 oz.

The Desperate Housewives actress shared the first glimpse of Santiago with HOLA! USA the following day and told the publication she and her husband were "so grateful for this beautiful blessing."

Back in April, Longoria explained her emotions were already getting the best of her. "[I'm] excited but nervous. Nervous, excited, emotional," she said, adding that she planned to have her entire family at the hospital. "They won't be in the delivery room but they'll be there."

The new mom announced she was pregnant back in December, and while this is her first child, Longoria is also the stepmother to Bastón's three children, Natalia, 22, and twins Mariana & Jose, 14 from his previous marriage.

After the couple tied the knot with her beau in 2016, she said having a child would be "the icing on the cake."

"We have this wonderful wave of future feminists coming into this world with a different view of what this global community we live in should look like," she said

Prior to her delivery, the 43-year-old said she hoped she'd raise her son to be a proud feminist.

"I'm so excited that I'm having a boy because I think the world needs more good men," Longoria shared.

"This boy, my son, will be surrounded by very strong, educated, powerful women and I think it's important that he sees those types of role models in his life so he knows how to support it, how to applaud it and how to honor it," she added.

However, the birth of her son comes at a bittersweet moment for Longoria, who revealed her 15-year-old dog Jinxy died in her arms Thursday night.

Along with posting a gallery of photos to Instagram, Longoria wrote a touching tribute to beloved furry friend.

"So the day I've been dreading happened last night. Jinxy passed away in my arms at the vet. He had a stroke that he just couldn't come back from," she wrote.

"Anyone who knew me, knew Jinxy. He will be missed by many. I love you Jinxy," Longoria continued, before calling her pooch as her "baby before this baby in my belly came along."
