Expert Reveals 'Only Theory That Stacks Up' In Madeleine McCann Case

When Madeleine McCann disappeared from the family's holiday home 10 years ago, in Praia da Luz in Portugal, she was just three years old.

When news broke that the British police had been awarded about $106,000 more to extend the another six months, crime expert, Pat Brown was dismayed.

"Madeleine is dead," Brown told news.com.au. "There's no point spending all of this money as nothing they do is going to make that child alive."

Brown's own theory is that the evidence for Madeleine's case does not support an abduction. Instead, she says, "the evidence supports the theory of an accident occurring through neglect and possible medication."

The mystery of her disappearance and suspected abduction rocked the world. Although it has cost the British Home Office nearly $14 Million USD, and will cost them tens of thousands more, her parent's have not given up the search for their daughter.

A similar claim was made by former detective Goncalo Amaral in his controversial book called The Truth of the Lie. In it, he claimed that Maddie had "died and her abduction was a "cover-up."

Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann lost their appeal in Portugal's Supreme court regarding his allegations, but they have lodged a complaint against that ruling as well.

As police talk of a "key individual" who allegedly was in the same area of Portugal when Maddie went missing, it might be the "last throw of the dice" in their hunt for the missing girl.

Is she alive? Do you think they'll find her - or is Brown right?
