Until Amal Clooney (nee Alamuddin) entered the scene, people wondered if playboy George Clooney would ever settle down again.
The romance between the actor and the human rights lawyer melted the hearts of even the most stone cold individuals, bringing the belief of soulmates a little closer to reality.
In an upcoming appearance on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, George shared how he met the love of his life.
In a clip of the episode, George shocks fans by admitting he met Amal without having to leave the house.
He said he was introduced to Amal in July 2013 when she and a mutual friend were passing his house near Lake Como, Italy on their way to Cannes.
"A mutual friend of ours said, "˜I'm stopping by and can I bring my friend?'" George said. "And I was like, "˜Of course!'"
While George didn't know anything about the woman who was soon to walk through his door, he said his agent did, and told him to be on his best behavior.
"I got a call from my agent who said, "˜I met this woman who is coming to your house, who you're going to marry,'" George told Letterman. "It really worked out that way."
Clooney added that while there was an instant attraction, their relationship was a slow progression.
"The funniest thing was my mom and dad were visiting so my parents were there. And we just talked, we stayed up all night talking." George explained.
"And I got her email address, because she was going to send me some pictures of my parents. So we started writing. I didn't know if she wanted to go out with me "” I just thought we were buddies," he added.
The pair didn't stay buddies for long, as their whirlwind romance became a fairy tale happily-ever-after.
George and Amal tied the knot on September 27, 2014, and have since welcomed twins Alexander and Ella into the world.
