In November 2017, just days after hosting the Country Music Association Awards, country singer Carrie Underwood had a major fall on the steps on her Nashville home that led to her being rushed to the hospital.

As previously reported by Dearly, the fall resulted in a broken wrist and a cut on her face that required 40 stitches. After the fall, she told her fans via Facebook that everything was going to be okay:

Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody...I'll be alright...might just take some time...glad I've got the best hubby in the world...

Underwood later revealed that as a result of the stitches on her face, she may look a bit different to some people.

She told her fan club in a letter:

In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [my husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in.

The wife and mom of one continued:

Now, here we are 7 weeks later and, even though I've had the best people helping me, I'm still healing and not quite looking the same.

And ever since her accident, Underwood has been strategic about keeping the extent of her facial injuries hidden...that is until now.

On April 4, Underwood posted a picture on Instagram that showed more of her face than she has in months.

And many of her followers took to the comment section to debate whether they saw a real difference in her appearance:

Gorgeous Girl! We ain't sweatin dem stitches!!!  I don't notice anything different on her face?  She said she was going to look different, but I didn't notice anything. I think that's why so many people mentioned it.  I can't see a scar??  I don't see any scar? She looks pretty as always  Looks like maybe a scar from her lip to the side of her nose if you zoom in. Still looks beautiful though.

Some people wondered if she got lip injections and a nose job. Others defended the country music singer, saying that the change is probably the result of her fall:

Ok well she definitely had lip injections.  It just looks like she got her lips done.  She looks pretty normal.... upper lip/nostril looks a little diff but that's all.  Is that a new nose? Lol. She's so pretty who cares!

Because the photo only shows one side of her face, the "scar" everyone assumes she may have could very well be on the other side of her face.
