"NCIS: Los Angeles" Star Hospitalized After Car Wreck

CBS

NCIS: Los Angeles is largely considered one of the most successful spin-offs in the past decade. Normally, shows that try to recreate the magic from an original series fail to keep audiences entertained. That couldn't be further from the truth for this show.

The success of NCIS: Los Angeles is in large part thanks to Linda Hunt, who plays Henrietta "Hetty" Lange. The 4ft9 actress may not stand tall in stature, but she sure knows how to deliver a powerful performance.

That's why fans were stunned to hear that Hunt was involved in a serious car accident in Los Angeles and was transferred to hospital. While trying to make a left turn in her BMW SUV, Hunt hit a car, then collided with another SUV. TMZ has obtained the only images of the crash.

The 73-year-old actress was, according to eyewitnesses, "visibly shaken" and was helped to the sidewalk where she rested on a lawn chair. Paramedics evaluated Hunt and ultimately determined she needed to be taken to the hospital for her injuries.

According to law enforcement, Hunt was the only person from the crash who was hospitalized. The extent of her injuries were not revealed, but it's believed they are relatively minor. As of right now, there is an investigation to figure out the cause of the accident.

Hunt has appeared in more than 200 episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles and is the only person to win an Oscar for portraying a character of the opposite sex.

Both TMZ and ET Canada have reached out to Hunt's rep for comment, but neither have received an answer. We hope that Hunt and everyone else involved are okay, and that the hospitalization was just a precaution.

Meagan has an intense love for Netflix, napping, and carbs.
