Mama June Walked Out Of Her Own Intervention

It’s been a rough few months for Mama June Shannon and her family, and now that her show From Not to Hot is nearing the end of its season, we’re getting a closer look at what went down during the downward spiral which has torn apart her family.

During the season finale of From Not to Hot, we see that Mama June’s family staged an intervention for her after falling into the world of drugs.

“If this intervention doesn’t work, she’s mentally going to have an actual breakdown,” Mama June’s daughter Pumpkin told the cameras.

Pumpkin then addressed her mom directly, trying to appeal to her maternal instincts.

“Physically, it’s like you don’t care about your health,” she said. “I’m concerned about you. We care about you. Alana cares about you, Jessica cares about you, Doe Doe cares about you and it’s like everybody’s trying to get you back healthy and you have tunnel vision and the only person you see is [June’s boyfriend] Geno.”

Alana, otherwise known as Honey Boo Boo, then broke down in tears and told her mom that she’s living with her sister because she’s scared of being at home with Mama June.

“I swear to God mama it’s not by choice,” she said through tears. “I would love to come home and stay with you, tell you about my day, but I can’t do that because I’m scared. I’m scared to stay at your house.”

Mama June was silent, then said she wouldn’t discuss the matter on camera and stormed out the house. Dr. Ish, a psychiatrist, and the show’s producers chased Mama June down and managed to talk to her.

“Just ask Geno how many times I sit there and cry to him and be like, ‘I hate my f–king self. I want to f–king kill the person that I am now.’ Because I don’t know who I am,” she said. “I don’t know if I want to ‘kill myself’ kill myself or I want to kill the person that has took over my body.”

After speaking with the doctor and producers, Mama June agreed to go to an in-patient facility to try and receive some help. The family drove her to North Carolina, where the facility was, and they had some hope she’d stay, but according to the preview, it didn’t last.

“After only 12 hours, June checks herself out,” the show explained. “Geno picks her up. Their whereabouts are unknown.”

Two days after Mama June left the center, she and Geno were arrested on felony charges.

“As soon as Geno got Mama from the treatment center, I knew it was over from there,” Pumpkin said in the episode. “Mama just got charged with possession of crack cocaine, which is a felony.”

“Since Mama June got arrested in Alabama, she has to stay there until she goes to court,” Doe Doe, June’s sister, said.

“June remains in Alabama,” the show added. “According to June, she’s not allowed to leave the state until after her hearing. She could face several years of jail time.”

Alana hopes that her mom is able to turn things around. As of right now, her legal guardian is her sister Pumpkin.

“I really hope this is rock bottom for Mama because once you hit rock bottom, there’s no more going deeper — you can only go up,” the former pageant star said. “I really hope mama’s just thinking ‘I just got arrested. I need to get it together. I need to get my shit together.’ If this isn’t her wake-up call. I could possibly lose her forever.”

Pumpkin also hopes that this is a wake-up call, and she also knows one of the ways her mom can start getting better.

“As of right now, my hopes for Mama is honestly for her to get it together and her to leave Geno and just all-in-all get herself back to where she once was.”

The more I hear about it, the sadder I find the situation. I hope she’s able to turn it around for the sake of her family.
