Hollywood's glitziest, most glamorous night of the year is almost upon us, as the 2019 Academy Awards are set to air on Sunday, February 24.
While movie stars are picking out their dresses and writing acceptance speeches, now is the perfect time to guess who will take home the hardware.

Actress in a Leading Role
There's serious competition in this category from a number of strong contenders. While Glenn Close (The Wife) is long overdue for an Oscar, critics have been buzzing about A Star Is Born star Lady Gaga for months. The pair tied for the award at the Critics' Choice Awards, so it's still anyone's game.
It a dark horse manages to snag the award before either of them, Olivia Colman (The Favourite) seems to have a better shot than the other nominees.
Actor in a Leading Role
The conventional wisdom says that the star of a biopic will take home this acting award, but that barely narrows down the choice with this year's nominees.
Rami Malek has picked up award after award for his performance as Queen front man Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, but Christian Bale has also scooped up a few for his portrayal of Dick Cheney in Vice.
While there's a slim chance that Bradley Cooper (A Star Is Born) could come from behind to win, we wouldn't count on it.
Actress in a Supporting Role
There's little doubt that Regina King's moving performance in If Beale Street Could Talk will make her an Oscar winner, especially after her success at the Golden Globes.
If anyone poses a challenge, it's this year's BAFTA winner Rachel Weisz (The Favourite) who didn't have to compete with King for her award.
Actor in a Supporting Role
In the host of award shows leading up to the Oscars, Green Book's Mahershala Ali has earned one acting award after another. It seems certain that his good luck will continue this weekend, but Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) is a nice bet if you want a long shot.
Directing
It used to be a sure bet that this category's winner would also bring home the Best Picture award, but in recent years that hasn't been the case. Since Green Book seems like a strong contender for the night's top award, Roma director Alfonso Cuarón (who has dominated this award's season) could shine in this category.
Meanwhile, first time Oscar nominee Spike Lee (BlacKkKlansman) is a strong contender.
Best Picture
Here's where things get tricky: this year serious fan favorites are duking it out with arthouse hits for the biggest Oscar of all, and it's not so clear who will walk away with the hardware.
The smart money would go to the crowd-pleasing Green Book, while Roma and If Beale Street Could Talk pose a serious challenge.
If three period pieces vying for the year's top spot wasn't confusing enough, The Favourite and Bohemian Rhapsody are also dark horse picks. So let your heart guide you in this category, because we're stumped!
