Richard Gere Has Become A Dad Again At 69

Last September, after more than a month of speculation that Richard Gere, 69, was to become a father once again, his wife Alejandra Silva confirmed the news on social media.

The 35-year-old mom shared an adorable photograph of her baby bump being blessed by the Dalai Lama as Gere, a Buddhist and longtime friend of the leader, holds her.

"A very special moment just a few minutes ago... Getting blessings for our precious to come.. we couldn't say it before telling HH Dalai Lama," Silva wrote in the caption.

The notoriously private couple have since remained quiet about expecting their first child together, but this week, we finally have some good news coming from them.

A representative for the Pretty Woman actor has revealed that the husband and wife pair have recently welcomed a son. However, that's all fans are getting for now.

No other details about the newborn, like his date of birth or name, have been shared.

The baby will join Gere's 19-year-old son, Homer, from his marriage to Carey Lowell and Silva's six-year-old son, Alberto, with her ex-husband, Govind Friedland.

Baby Gere comes joins the family just under a year after his parents said "I do" in Madrid after dating for four years.

In an interview with HELLO! shortly after their nuptials, Gere couldn't help but share how happy he is with Silva despite their 33-year gap.

"I'm the happiest man in the universe," he told the magazine. "How could I not be? I'm married to a beautiful woman who is smart, sensitive, committed to helping people, who's fun, patient, who knows how to forgive, who's a great cook "“ and who makes the best salads in the world!"

Silva is Gere's third wife. The once-rom-com king was married to supermodel Cindy Crawford before tying the knot for 11 years with Lowell.

Congratulations to Gere and Silva! We can't wait to get a glimpse of their bundle of joy.
