It's official! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced the name of the royal baby:

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor

According to Baby Center, the name Archie has English origins (of course) and means "genuine and bold." It's a variant of the name Archibald, although the Sussexes didn't clarify if that is his whole name. I like the sound of Archie myself!

Harrison, on the other hand, is a fitting tribute to the baby's father. It literally means"son of Harry."

The couple shared the news on Instagram with a sweet photo with the queen, Prince Philip, and Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were delighted to share their first public moment as a family.

They are so incredibly grateful for the warm wishes and support they've received from everyone around the world, since welcoming their son two days ago.

Back in January, it was report that Prince George introduced himself to a woman walking a dog near the Middleton family home in Berkshire as 'Archie'. The royals have been known to go by other names so they can blend in. Prince William reportedly goes by 'Steve' and Prince Harry goes by 'Spike'. It makes you wonder if they heard George's nickname for himself and fell in love with the name.
