This Cat Was In Terrible Pain, But What His Owner Did Gave Him A New Life

When Watson was brought to a shelter, things didn't look too good. The cat was born with a condition called radial hypoplasia, which caused his front legs to twist inwards. Each step he took caused the poor kitten a lot pain, and he couldn't use his paws to play like other cats.

Since getting adopted is tricky for handicapped cats, Watson may have been put down like so many others.

Luckily for him, Melanie Lusnak walked into the shelter one day and fell in love with him.

<amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large.jpg" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_550px.jpg 550w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_650px.jpg 650w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_750px.jpg 750w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_850px.jpg 850w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_950px.jpg 950w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_1050px.jpg 1050w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_1150px.jpg 1150w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_1250px.jpg 1250w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_1350px.jpg 1350w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_1450px.jpg 1450w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_1550px.jpg 1550w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/Handi-Cat_01-Large_GH_content_1630px.jpg 1630w" sizes="89vw" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>
The Pet Beastro

"The minute I saw Watson it was love at first sight, his paws were so badly twisted that I knew I needed to help him," said the 28-year-old woman from Michigan.

Melanie knew adopting Watson would be tricky - he would need a lot of care and attention due to his condition.
