Tom Bergeron Defends His Controversial Comment About DWTS Dancer

Dancing With The Stars is one of the most entertaining shows on television. It's always fun to see your old favorites trying to learn a new skill, especially one as challenging as ballroom dancing.

There have been a lot of exciting moments on the show, with truly showstopping performances and emotional reveals, but unfortunately that's not what people are talking about this week. It's not even the performers that people are upset with, it's the host.

Tom Bergeron is under fire after he made a questionable comment to one of the dancers, and even his fellow co-host, Erin Andrews, says she's "still in shock".

Bergeron's comment about dancer, Witney Carson has fans asking if he went to far...

Bergeron was standing with contestants Witney Carson and Frankie Muniz while they were being judged on their performance. Carrie Ann Inaba was critiquing their waltz by saying that "[their dance] as the closest thing to perfection. I mean, you are so exquisite when you dance, it's just so clean. I look for mistakes, but I don't see them "“ except for when you almost lost control of Witney there."

It was Bergeron's quick remark after that statement that caused the controversy. He said "I'm guessing he's not the first guy who's lost control of Witney."

After the crowd's gasps subsided, the couple left the stage. Later in the night they were asked for their reactions to the comment and both were a little bit stunned. "I think it was just Make Witney Uncomfortable Day," Muniz responded.

"Yeah, I guess," Carson added. "I don't know, you guys. I didn't really get it at first because I was like, I don't really get what that means, but yeah, thanks. Thanks for whatever that was."

Carson continued, saying that "I'm just going to brush it off, and I hope you guys do too." But fans aren't so quick to let it slide.

Some are asking that he apologize to Witney on camera, but he claims that he didn't mean for it to come off as inappropriate.

Did you think that his comment was inappropriate, did he just phrase his words incorrectly?
