After Their Dog Passed Away, This Family Got A Message From "Doggie Heaven"

The pain of losing a pet is truly awful, and some experts say it's worse than losing a human relative. When a family's beloved dog passes away, we remind ourselves that they're in a better place, but we still miss them. That's why it meant so much to the Callaghan family that their pet Bandit said goodbye to them one last time.

Whether you're a believer or not, there's no denying that a dog's love is something special. They love us as much as we love them, so it's possible they might want to let us know that they're happy on "the other side."

Just take a look at the message Bandit left for his family. It's hard to believe this is just a coincidence.

<amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/3-2.JPG" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/3-2_GH_content_550px.JPG 550w" sizes="89vw" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>
Catie Callaghan

<amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/1-1.JPG" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>
Catie Callaghan

Catie Callaghan, the daughter of Bandit's owners, says that he was a "very good dog," but the poor guy had been passed from one family to the other.

The Callaghans' home was the 4th he had lived in, and the family was determined to give up on him like everyone else had, even though Bandit's health problems required lots of expensive surgeries.

<amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/2-1.JPG" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/05/2-1_GH_content_550px.JPG 550w" sizes="89vw" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>
Catie Callaghan

While Bandit was friendly with everyone, Catie told BuzzFeed that he had a "special" relationship with her Dad, which meant it was probably hardest for him to say goodbye to Bandit.

While he lived a full and happy life - living until he was 15 years old - losing Bandit was tough for his family. That is, until they found the "message" left in his water bowl.

<amp-twitter height="472" width="375" layout="responsive" data-tweetid="789307650722979840"></amp-twitter>

"The bowl was a sign that he's happy," Catie said.

"We even thought the smile looked like his. It was a God wink."

Since sharing the incredible message back in October, Catie's story has been re-tweeted more than 12,000 times.

It seems everyone is bowled over by both the love that Catie's family shared with Bandit and the love he felt for them. It doesn't make losing a pet any easier, but it's good to know that wherever Bandit is, he's smiling.

Share this post if you believe all dogs go to heaven!
