America's Got Talent Reveals New Host

One month after host Nick Cannon unexpectedly left America's Got Talent, the show has named their new replacement.

Once the show resumes filming, fans can expect to see super-model and former TV star Tyra Banks take reins of the hosting gig.

Banks won the gig over three other potential candidates: Marlon Wayan, Brandon Mychal Smith, and Tone Bell. AGT was hoping to replace Cannon with another comedian, but apparently all these attempts failed and they turned their eyes over to the America's Next Top Model alum.

Banks has a lengthy resume to her name. The 43-year-old businesswoman has been in the industry since 1991, when she started her career as a model. Banks had a small role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which then helped land her the leading role in the Disney film, Life-Size. In 2003, Banks created and hosted America's Next Top Model until 2015 when she took a step down.

In addition to all those credits, Tyra Banks also hosted her own talk show which ran for 5 seasons. She also created her own cosmetics line and has written two books.

The news about Tyra's addition to the cast was confirmed by Howie Mandel on Twitter, posting a video welcoming the new host.

People seem pretty on the fence about the show's decision, mainly because they loved Nick Cannon so much.

Only time will tell how Tyra does with this gig. The new mom has been out of the spotlight for a while and seems ready to make a comeback!
