An Award Winning $6 Wine Is Available Exclusively At Walmart

It wasn't long ago that we told you about the The Exquisite Collection Cí´tes de Provence Rosé, an $8 in-house wine from discount supermarket chain, Aldi, that took one of the top awards at the International Wine Challenge.

If you thought the praise-worthy rosé was unbeatable in taste and price, wait until you hear about the dreamy award-winning $6 bottle of red wine.

The Decanter World Wine Awards brings together hundreds of wine experts for a blind tasting affair during which about 16,000 varieties are sampled and ranked. At the 2016 event, La Moneda Reserva Malbec scored 95 out of 100 and nabbed the coveted Platinum Best in Show for its "succulent juicy berries, freshly crushed black fruit, creamy vanilla yogurt and pepper spice" flavors.

Judges were impressed with both the taste and cost of the wine proving that there may not be a difference between cheap and expensive wine after all. Sorry snobs.

La Moneda

The Chilean Malbec was previously sold by Asda, a British supermarket chain but it has finally made its way across the pond and is available for purchase in the U.S exclusively at Walmart.

Walmart is probably the last place that comes to mind when thinking of fine wines, but maybe it's time to put your preconceptions of the budget-friendly store's vino selection aside if you want to score a good deal. La Moneda Reserva Malbec is available at more than 500 locations across the country and currently retails for $6.29.

The deep wine pairs well with red meats and chocolate so next time you're perusing the aisles for some snacks and home cleaning products, grab a few bottles for a chance to impress at your backyard gatherings this summer.
