Beer For Breakfast? You Can Now Get This Unusual Cereal-Flavored Ale

After pumpkin spice beer, chocolate beer, key lime pie beer, and oyster stout, you should be sufficiently prepared for beers brewed with strange flavors.

A Massachusetts brewery has released a brand new drink inspired by one of your favorite breakfast cereals, and we can't decide if it's a good thing or not.

Somerville's Saturday Morning ale is a Belgian-style brew made using Cap'n Crunch Berries cereal. The beer is 9% alcohol and will be sold locally at their taproom.

Brendan O'Toole, operation manager, told Boston.com the brewing secret: "Start with a base recipe roughly similar to that of our Trekker Trippel and add the breakfast cereal during the mash-in. We also added a good amount of flaked corn to the mash in order to add smoothness to the body and further emphasize the cereal-like overtones."

<amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/16939474_10154230162131674_4064773835005316144_n.jpg" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/16939474_10154230162131674_4064773835005316144_n_GH_content_550px.jpg 550w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/16939474_10154230162131674_4064773835005316144_n_GH_content_650px.jpg 650w" sizes="89vw" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img>
Somerville Brewing on Facebook

The fun and wacky beer gets its name and character from the brewery itself, since Cartoon Network is always on TV as employees work.

"Life is short.
