It looks like Teen Mom OG is about to get a new cast member, and it's someone you'd least expect.

Bristol Palin is set to join the cast of the popular series this fall after it was announced Farrah Abraham left the series when Teen Mom OG executive producer Morgan J. Freeman told her she had to choose between her adult film career and being on the show.

Farrah's Ousting

In 2013, Abraham had infamously appeared in the adult film, Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom, which was followed by a sequel the following year.

She quit the MTV show and proceeded to file a lawsuit against Viacom, alleging she was both sex-shamed and given the boot because "she did not confirm to gender stereotypes." The two parties have since come to an undisclosed agreement.

When news broke out that producers had cast Palin as her replacement, she told Us Weekly: "Who cares! Sorry I'm dealing with a family loss right now," in reference to the death of her Pomeranian, Blue.

This also comes on the heels of her arrest after she attacked a security guard at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Who is Bristol Palin?

If you don't know who Palin is, there's a chance you've been living under a rock for the past decade.

The daughter of former Alaskan governor, Sarah Palin, made headlines in 2008 after it was revealed she was pregnant with her son, Tripp, at only 17 years old. She was engaged to her son's father, Levi Johnson, until March 2009, and a bitter custody battle ensued.

In 2015, Palin welcomed another child with Dakota Meyer, a former Marine and Medal of Honor recipient, named Sailor Grace. The couple eventually tied the knot in 2016 and had another daughter, Atlee Bay, the following year.

Although it was announced the couple were in the process of divorcing, it appears a reconciliation is in the works based on Palin's social media accounts.

This won't be the first time Palin's appeared on reality TV either.

She appeared on Dancing With the Stars in 2010 and 2012, respectively, and had her own show on the small screen in 2012, titled Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp.

Along with being a former Teen Pregnancy Prevention Ambassador for the Candie's Foundation, she wrote the memoir, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far, in 2011.

Reactions

When fans of the hit series caught wind of of the new cast member, they couldn't help but voice their displeasure on Twitter with some scathing comments.

Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry even gave her two cents about the new addition and wrote: "Bristol palin & cheyenne & Cory for teen mom og? Our producers sure know what to do 😳."

She later added she wasn't criticizing the decision, and was just taken aback by the news.

Will you be watching Palin on the newest season of Teen Mom OG?
