Celebrity Investors And What They’re Trading With

We know celebrities because of the area they specialize in, or for what they’re famous for. If they’re an actor, it’s the roles they’ve played and the films they’ve been in. If they’re a sports icon, it’s their achievements and so on. Many celebrities, however, have interests away from their main gig. And investments and trading feature prominently for some.

Ashton Kutcher

Starting our list of celebrity investors and traders with film star Ashton Kutcher makes sense because he’s by far and away the most prolific and successful. Working alongside Guy Oseary, who partners him in ventures, Kutcher has invested well and raked in millions in profit over the years. Kutcher’s recent involvements include interests in companies such as Airbnb, Spotify and Uber.

Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony, who plies his trade in the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers, is a sports star with one eye on the future. Seven years ago in 2013, alongside Stuart Goldfard, Anthony created Melo7 Tech Partners, intending to invest in the next big thing. Since Melo7 Tech Partners’ inception, Anthony has put his money into nearly thirty start-ups. And he’s made multiple acquisitions, too. From online fashion to voice messaging services, Anthony isn’t fussy, as long as it makes financial sense.

Tyra Banks

Tyra Banks is best known for being a supermodel. Her career in the industry opened several doors, which has seen her host talk shows, act as a TV producer, as well as becoming a successful author. Something many may not know is that Banks is incredibly business savvy, and her investments have proven to be rewarding on the grandest of scales. For example, Banks invested in Locket, a lock screen app, seven years ago in 2013. Two years later, the app was bought by Wish in a mega-money deal. It was the first of what could be many successful investments.

Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in music, especially in the US and the hip hop and rap genres. He’s renowned for bringing incredible talents such as Eminem to the fore, establishing himself as one of the leading music moguls on the planet. It’s common knowledge that Dre has always had a head for business, similar to other names in the music industry. As a businessman, Dre’s biggest success is, of course, his line of headphones known as Beats. They Photo by Adeolu Eletu on Unsplashwere an instant success on release in 2008, with taking ownership six years later for a stunning $3 billion. The deal propelled Dre forward as one of the wealthiest powers to come from music.

While a lot of celebrities are keen to stick to what they know, which is fine, others, such as those above, are keen on expanding their empire, and their bank balances. It has never been easier to get into trading and more specifically spread betting. Investments and trading are often the go-to because they present the ideal opportunities for A-listers with surplus cash to hand.
