Cadbury Creme Egg Mayonnaise Exists, But Lord Knows It Shouldn't

Sometimes food innovation is a good thing. For example, when they decided to double-stuff Oreo cookies, or someone found out you can deep-fry a Snickers bar, those things were wonderful. However, as with most things, people have chosen to take innovation too far when it comes to some foods, and that could not be more evidenced in the newest Cadbury concoction.

While most people thought it was an April Fool's joke, the candy giant has made something very clear: their new Cadbury Creme Egg mayonnaise is not a prank. It's real, and it's ready to be eaten.

According to the company, this new product is their classic mayonnaise recipe, mixed with the filling of Creme Eggs and then sprinkled with chunks of the chocolate shell. If you ask me, it sounds gross, but I'm sure this has intrigued a lot of people to try it.

The original announcement came on April 1st, which left many people skeptical about the authenticity of the new product.

"We weren't kidding, Heinz Creme Egg Mayo is a thing!" the official Twitter account said. "Who wants to try it? OF COURSE YOU DO! Come and see us at Ely's Yard, Truman Brewery in London from 11th-13th April for free samples of this crazy combo. Only until stocks last!"

The brand also released a statement making it clear that this Easter treat is purposefully out of the box, because they wanted something for a milestone year.

"In Heinz's 150th anniversary year, we want to take every opportunity to celebrate and Easter has always been one of our favourite times of the year," said Heinz Brand Manager Martina Davis. "So we set out to create the most Easter-y mayo we could. And who better to partner with than Cadbury Creme Egg "“ the kings and queens of Easter and another of the nation's most loved brands!"

"We're delighted to launch the world's first-ever Creme Egg Mayo, just in time for Easter," Davis continued. "And very happy to report that it's absolutely DELICIOUS. A real taste adventure. The only question we're asking ourselves is why we haven't done it sooner?!"

"We're excited to finally announce our partnership with Heinz to create this gloriously gooey, crazy combination and dream collaboration for so many Cadbury Creme Egg lovers," Raphael Capitani, Brand Manager at Cadbury Creme Egg, said. "We couldn't think of a better partner to make this spread. The surprising taste is so, so delicious!"

Heinz suggests spreading the mayo on waffles or pancakes, while some people are pretty excited to just eat it with a spoon.

I don't think I would ever want to try this Cadbury Creme Egg mayo, would you?
