There are two kinds of people in this world: those who admit to enjoying popping pimples, and liars.
I'm not ashamed to admit there's something so satisfying about popping a zit, to the point where I almost get excited when one shows up. I know, I know. It's not the best thing to do for your skin, but I'll be damned if I don't pop that pimple as soon as it appears.
Dr. Sandra Lee, a.k.a Dr. Pimple Popper is well aware that people love this gross habit, and she's built herself an empire on it.
Dr. Lee has a YouTube channel with millions of followers who tune in to see her popping pimples, blackheads, cysts, and anything else that needs draining.
"I really think that people like this because, in general, it makes them happy, for multiple reasons," Lee said of people's obsession with pimple popping. "Either it relaxes you, decreases your anxiety as you feel a sense of completeness. It gets rid of your compulsions. It's like something is not there anymore that isn't supposed to be there."
TLC was so intrigued by her YouTube channel, they gave Dr. Lee her own show on their network. And as if that wasn't enough, Dr. Lee has now paired up with entertainment company Spin Master for a pimple-popping game called Pimple Pete.
The point of the game is to pull out the pimples from Pete's face without bursting the "mega-zit" on his nose. If you do, you get sprayed with water and lose your points for that round.
Some zits are harder to pull out than others, but they're worth more points. It's all about strategy and precision...much like popping an actual zit.
You can watch a review of Pimple Pete and see if it's something you'd play on family game night!
