Woman's Early Halloween Decorations Are So Scary That Neighbors Called The Police

We're still a month away from October 31, but that's not stopping Halloween fanatics from covering their yards with "killer" decorations.

The goal is to not only frighten a passerby, but to also impress them with their realistic arrangements.

There's only one problem. What if someone actually gets so afraid that they dial 911?

One woman from North Dakota gave her neighborhood quite a scare with her early Halloween decorations, but she's not going to take them down any time soon.

Becky Muhs, from West Fargo, didn't intend for her Halloween decorations to scare someone to the point that they call the police.

But it did, and one neighbor can't shake off how realistic it looks.

"I look across the street and I see in my neighbor's window, the sign that says 'Help Me,'" neighbor Jay Thomas said.

"That window has always had the curtains drawn. So I'm like, 'What's going on in here?'"

Unfortunately, Muhs and her husband weren't home at the time their neighbor started panicking, which prompted them to call the police.

"To my defense, there were no other Halloween decorations out there," Thomas added.

While many people would consider Christmas their favorite holiday, Muhs said she loves Halloween.

"It is my favorite holiday," she told WDAY-TV. "It's been since birth actually."

And because Halloween Day is her anniversary, and her birthday is just a day before it, she likes to start decorating her home early.

"It's any Halloween lover's dream come true to get that kind of reaction to decorations," she told Fox News.

"And honestly it's very reassuring to know the we have such good neighbors looking out for us ... even if it might have made him look a little silly, it was all in good fun."

Police informed the couple that these calls are not uncommon close to Halloween, and did not force them to take down their frightful sign.

Here are some more "killer" early Halloween decorations that have frightened a passerby...

Body Under The Garage

Police in Greene County, Tennessee had to issue this warning after people were constantly calling them over a fake body decoration:

"THIS IS A HALLOWEEN DECORATION! Do NOT call 911 reporting a dead body. Instead, congratulate the homeowner on a great display."

A Gruesome Scene

"It is kind of violent, and I don't like violence," one neighbor complained to Inside Edition.

"Stay Alive: Don't Text And Drive"

A Canadian man was forced to remove his Halloween decorations of a fake car cash because police deemed it was a safety risk.

Local authorities thought children might climb on the car for fun and get hurt.

At least there was a good message behind this scary display!
