Since the 90s, Halle Berry has proven to be an amazing actress with a career anyone would envy.

But while she's A-list celebrity, she's also managed to live a relatively quiet life out of the public eye. Although she's been in the media for a string of romantic relationships, she's been able to keep her two children, 10-year-old Nahla Ariela, and four-year-old Maceo-Robert away from prying eyes.

So fans of the X-Men star were surprised when Berry posted a picture of her son's face during their Bora Bora vacation on Instagram.

In an interview with Extra, Berry explained that although she's protective over her children's privacy, she does want the public to know how important Nahla and Maceo-Robert are to her.

"That was a struggle," Berry said. "I really don't like to show my kids very much ... but I do realize ... my people are, like, solid for me and me for them and I feel like I want to include them."

"But it's a fine line because I don't want to exploit my children ... I want to protect my children, so I thought, 'Half the face is good,'" she continued.

In the past, Berry had only posted pictures of her children with their their faces cropped out or hidden, and her followers have noticed.

"What's with the hiding of the faces? They're beautiful children why not show them off?" one Instagram user asked the actress in 2016.

Although plenty of celebrities don't respond to comments on social media, Berry answered her fan's question and elaborated on her strong belief of privacy.

"I've noticed you have said this several times now so let me be clear "” I'm not at all ashamed of [my] children. I try to find creative ways to incorporate them into my feed because they are the biggest part of my life, but I also work very hard to keep their identities as private as I can considering they are only children," she wrote.

"It's my belief, and I'm not criticizing others who have different beliefs, that it's my job as their mother to protect their privacy as best I can," the mother of two added.

"When they grow and they're of age and they want [to] share their images on the internet, that will be for them to decide, not me. Feel me? Have a beautiful day."

In the same interview with Extra, the 51-year-old also revealed the key to her youthful glow: bone broth!

"You can make it, you can go to the butcher and get all the bones they're going to throw away and he'll give them to you for free," she shared. "Take the bones, boil them up for 24 hours... and you drink the broth. It's so full of collagen that it's crazy."
