When I enjoy a bowlful of ice cream the one thing I learn about myself is "I really, really love ice cream."
But it turns out there's a hidden code to just how you enjoy this frozen treat that reveals a lot about your inner self. Juliet A. Boghossian is a food behavioral expert and the woman behind the Food-Ology blog. She helped ice cream chain Baskin-Robbins study their customers to unlock the secrets behind their buying habits.
Her results are pretty enlightening. Check out what your eating habits say about you.
More is more when it comes to banana splits and hot fudge sundaes, and ice cream lovers who tackle these huge bowls are known for being determined and ambitious.
Boghossian says sundae eaters like to take "calculated risks," and are very loyal to their close friends.
Favorite flavor: Vanilla and chocolate.
Cups and bowls
This takes the mess out of eating ice cream, but isn't that part of the fun? Of course cup eaters are practical, logical and level-headed.
The study reports that they're also "responsible, dutiful, family-oriented and hardworking."
Favorite flavor: Chocolate.
Milkshake fans are regarded as "eccentrics," and it's true they like to think outside the box. Boghossian calls them free spirited risk-takers, who are young at heart and fearless.
They draw strength from music and their family, and they're usually athletic (despite their weakness for milkshakes).
There are even more results, if you don't fit into those three categories.
