Neil Young Is Giving Away All His Music Online For Free

For those who are fans of the folk singer-songwriter, this announcement gives them one extra thing to be thankful for this time of year.

Acclaimed musician and producer, Neil Young, has been writing songs for decades and his career has been nothing short of legendary. Beginning at the young age of 15, Young has been steadily creating music since 1960, and will be releasing his 51st album at the beginning of December.

The 72-year-old has led an impressive life, having an extremely successful solo career and having collaborated with some of the most famous names in the industry.

His upcoming album The Visitor has him working with American band Promise Of The Real, who add a driven sound to the soft-voiced rock star. The lead vocalist of Promise Of The Real is Lukas Nelson, son of famous country music legend Willie Nelson. This will be the third album that they have worked with Neil Young on.

With the release of their new album, Young decided to offer his fans something as a thank you for supporting him throughout all these years.

When artists release new music, they often worry if enough people will actually go out to buy it or just listen to it when they can. Neil Young isn't worried, in fact, he's making it easier than ever to access his work.

When his new album comes out this December, he will simultaneously open up an online archive that includes all the music he has ever released.

"It's the way it's supposed to be. In the beginning, everything is free," he said on the new website.

Everything will be available, including the other album that Young put out this year, The Hitchhiker, which was a collection of acoustic songs he recorded in one night back in 1976.
