8 People Who Can Predict The Future, And Have Made Some Bone-Chilling Prophecies

oknavdoma / Spirit Science

Time travel, in a sense, actually is possible. Someone would have to be able to travel as fast as the speed of light to travel in time. The amount of energy needed to make that happen is unfathomable.

TV shows like Doctor Who and movies like Interstellar glamorize the science fiction notion, but what if people have actually traveled in time? Isn't that the only way to explain how some people are able to predict the future?

Here are eight people who may not have traveled to a distant time, but have an extraordinary ability to see beyond today.

1. Baba Vanga

Vangelia Pandeva Dimitrova, better known as Baba Vanga, died in 1996, but has left the world with dozens of predictions up until the 51st century, the date she believed the world would end. She lost her vision after being caught in a tornado at the age of 16, and soon after started making some startling predictions about the future.

She successfully predicted 9/11, claiming that "two steel birds" would attack the "American brethren." She also predicted ISIS, Brexit, and Trump's presidency.

For 2018, she's predicted that China will become the world's next superpower and we'll find a "new form of energy" on Venus. I can see the former coming true, but I'm pretty skeptical about the latter.

2. Nostradamus

The French author, best known for his book Les Propheties, is renowned for being able to accurately predict countless major future events. He predicted Hitler! How can you predict an individual?!

In one of his books, Nostradamus wrote: "From the depths of the West of Europe, A young child will be born of poor people, He who by his tongue will seduce a great troop; His fame will increase towards the realm of the East."

That's not all, he also predicted the atomic bomb, JFK assassination, and a number of natural catastrophes. He predicted that one day earthquakes will split the US in half... Yikes!

3. The Psychic Twins

The forecast of the future always seems grim when predicted by twins Linda and Terry Jamison. The California-based mediums have claimed to have channeled the spirits of dead celebrities like Princess Diana and Michael Jackson, and predicted major events like the Twin Tower attacks.

They also predicted that Saddam Hussein would be killed by US troops, and that Pope John Paul II would die in 2004, (he died a year later). Although their predictions may not happen on the exact day or year they initially say it will, it's pretty close.

You've probably heard of the last three people before, but these next lesser known people have predicted some major events as well...

4. Greg Wilkinson

Someone found a time capsule hidden in a bathroom wall in Sydney, Australia, discovering some startling predictions made by a man named Greg Wilkinson. Twenty-two years ago, Greg wrote a letter, where he accurately predicted the rise of Islamic extremists before 9/11 and that China would become a "world economic superpower."

He also envisioned that families would "go back to one parent working and the other looking after the kids" and more "social interaction in city suburbs." While statistics haven't proved if this is the case today, Greg does say in his letter that these predictions will come true closer to the year 2060.

5. Craig Hamilton-Parker

Author and self-claiming prophet Craig Hamilton-Parker predicted Brexit and the unlikely victory of Donald Trump. While all his predictions have not come true, such as North and South Korea becoming one country in 2017, he did predict this winter's flu epidemic and Hilary Clinton's resignation.

The clairvoyant said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement would happen in 2018, but he was very close!

He's made some crazy predictions for 2018, which include a lot of natural disasters. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what'll happen...

6. John Elfreth Watkins Jr.

American civil engineer John Elfreth Watkins predicted what the world would look like in the year 2000 right at the turn of the 20th century. He wrote a piece about his predictions, where it was published in American women's magazine. The article was titled "What May Happen in the Next Hundred Years." He discussed 29 topics, and so far 10 of his predictions have been right.

For example, he predicted the rise of GMOs, television, mobile phones, and the rising height of Americans.

7. Dimitri Ivanovich Mendeleev

The famous Russian chemist from the 19th century published the first periodic table of elements in 1869. Incredibly, he was able to correctly predict elements that weren't even discovered during his time!

8. Morgan Robertson

This American author wrote a novella called The Wreck of the Titan in 1889. The story is about an ocean liner called the Titan, which sinks in the North Atlantic after hitting an iceberg. Does this sound familiar?

The Titanic set sail 14 years later, and sunk in the Atlantic ocean after striking an iceberg.

That's not the only successful prediction Robertson has made. He also predicted World War II in his short story called Beyond the Spectrum, where he describes a future war between the US and Japan.
