Pink Cancels Concert After Being Hospitalized Twice In One Week

Pop singer Pink, 38, canceled an upcoming show in Australia - for the third time on her Beautiful Trauma world tour - after being hospitalized twice in one week.

The "What About Us" singer was admitted to a hospital in Sydney on Sunday, after suffering from dehydration.

Her promoter, Live Nation, says Pink was admitted to hospital again on Monday, and that the singer is battling a gastric virus.

Pink has reportedly been struggling with her illness since starting her tour a month ago. While she was able to take the stage on Saturday, doctors decided to keep her in hospital overnight on Monday, ruling out another concert date.

The news comes after Pink released a message to fans last week about canceling dates for her health.

"I was hoping a couple of days of rest would help me kick this sick, but not at the speed I was hoping for," she said in the statement.

The singer - who is known for striking back at critics and online mom-shamers - also defended herself after paparazzi photos showed the sick mother-of-two on an Australian beach with her kids.

"What these parasite paparazzi don't show you, is two doctor visits in Byron [Bay] on two consecutive days, antibiotics, steroids, Vick's, nose spray, throat spray, more steroids, NyQuil [and] a screaming baby in the middle of the night," Pink wrote on Instagram.

"You can think whatever you want, it's your right, but I have never taken advantage of anyone in my entire life,"  she added.

"I have never phoned in a single tour, I have an impeccable record for not cancelling."

The singer went on to explain that her day off with her children had been planned in advance.

Another pop star, former NSYNC member Justin Timberlake, 37, was quick to come to the ailing mother's defense in a comment on her post.

"As an artist who has had the fortune of sharing the stage twice on tour with this incomparable BADASS," Timberlake wrote on Instagram, "I'm here to tell you that you won't find a harder working, more authentically talented, and more thankful for her place on that stage and her fans than this woman."

Timberlake, who is both a parent and an entertainer who has struggled with illness on tour, called Pink "the realest."

"I say HATS OFF to you, my friend. I don't know how Moms/Artists like you exist."

"Wishing you full health and speedy recovery," he added.

Pink spent a night in hospital on Monday, and doctors didn't rule out keeping the singer longer as she continued "her treatment and recovery."

Obviously some fans were upset by the news - especially after traveling hours to see their favorite performer - but plenty of Pink's supporters commended her for not putting her health at risk.

"You do know you owe no one an explanation," one fan wrote. "Feel better soon."

"Pretty embarrassed to be called an Aussie the way some people are carrying on," another wrote.

"I understand you might have travelled to Sydney but she can't help being sick give her a break she's just human like the rest of us get better soon."

Pink pulled out a lozenge as she began the national anthem.NBC

Of course, Pink has famously performed while under the weather before. In February, she opened the Super Bowl with an incredible performance of the national anthem while she had the flu.

"I've been waiting to sing this song since 1991 when I saw my idol, Whitney Houston, own this song," she told fans at the time.

"And now, my chance has finally come. And it just so happens that this chance comes when I have two small Petri dish kids who literally cough INTO MY MOUTH and rub their snot on my cheek. You can't write this stuff I swear!"

The three cancelled dates are all expected to be rescheduled.

We're hoping Pink can get well soon, and keep impressing her fans around the world!
