Kris Jenner Opens Up About The Affair That Ended Her First Marriage

E! News / VH1

If you've ever watched their hit reality show, you'll know that the Kardashian/Jenner clan's life is consumed by drama.

Since 2007, we've seen all of the ups and downs surrounding the A-list family, but while they speak about their past prior to the series, we're still learning new tidbits about them.

It's common knowledge that before Kris Jenner was married to Caitlyn Jenner, she was married to Robert Kardashian Sr., the father of her four oldest children, for 13 years.

Kardashian, who gained national recognition for being one of O.J. Simpson's defense attorneys, passed away in 2003 after a short battle with esophageal cancer. Although he's often been a topic of conversation on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Jenner is opening up about their marriage's decline on outside of the reality series, and it's juicy.

The Interview

In an interview with Fox New's program, OBJECTified, Jenner revealed it was her late ex-husband's involvement in Simpson's trial that led to the beginning of the end of their relationship.

"I married Robert when I was 22 years old and I got pregnant on my honeymoon "” I had the happiest life you could've dreamt about," she told host Harvey Levin. "But when you're in something, sometimes people think the grass is always greener and that was like what I think I went through at some point."

When Levin asked Jenner if it was true that she had an extramarital affair with Emmy-nominated animator Todd Waterman during the course of their relationship, she admitted that she did, and it was is one of her "biggest regrets."

"I did, I did," Jenner said. "Which wasn't "” nothing I'm proud of. When I look back on it now, probably one of my biggest regrets in my life is that that marriage fell apart."

The "Momager" added that she was devastated when Kardashian eventually filed for divorce, as she realized their relationship had finally and fully deteriorated.

"Because it made it real," the 62-year-old explained. "Like, you think you're going to come through this period "” that was really hard for me."

The Aftermath

Following their separation, Kardashian had cut off all of Jenner's credit cards, leaving her with very few resources to provide for her family.

"I didn't have anything," she recalled. "I went to the market one day and my credit card didn't work. I had a market credit card and I'm like, 'I can't even buy a tomato.'"

Luckily, Jenner's luck turned around when she met Caitlyn. The couple started a new life together and added two more children to her brood.

Although the couple has since divorced, Jenner has found happiness yet again with 37-year-old Corey Gamble, her boyfriend of three-and-a-half years.

Their children have also publicly discussed how their divorce had affected them, and it's a lasting impact.

The former couple's youngest daughter Khloé said the demise of her parents' marriage had a profound affect on her, and made her swear off ever cheating on a partner.

"I saw how it destroyed my dad," she said on her television show Kocktails with Khloé. "I saw what it it did to my dad so I don't want to do that. I also saw the regret from my mom."

With Kardashian's passing still playing on everyone's minds, we hope the family finally gets the closure they need.
