Susan Lucci Has An Embarrassing Runway Fall And Shows Nothing But Class

Instagram

Few people have had the success of Susan Lucci. She's been a mainstay on our screens since the 70s, when she became Erica Kane on All My Children. For over 40 years, we could tune in during the day to see Lucci in all her glory.

Still, despite the years of success, it's hard to call Lucci lucky. Her name became synonymous with losing after she went nearly 20 years without winning an Emmy. Her 18 nominations without a win was only broken in 1999 when she finally won her long-overdue award. It was the only win in 21 nominations, but it is one of the best Emmy moments in history.

Earlier this year, the iconic actress revealed she was lucky to be alive after discovering that she had two blocked arteries in her heart.

"I didn't realize how serious it was until I asked to go home and come back the next day for the procedure and my doctor said "˜You're not leaving. You can have a heart attack at any time,'" Lucci told People Magazine.

At 72, Lucci looks incredible. She carries herself with trademark grace, but also looks fit, healthy and, most importantly, happy.

After her health scare, Lucci decided to walk in an event sponsored by the American Health Association. Go Red for Women honors those who lost their lives or loved ones to heart disease.

While walking down the runway in a gorgeous red dress, Lucci was bitten by the luck that kept her Emmy-less for 18 years.

She briefly stumbled, but caught her balance just in time. However, after turning around to wave at her adoring fans, the actress fell hard on her back.

It's hard to imagine anyone saving face after such a public, and embarrassing, fall.

Lucci showed why so many fans and stars still love her, however. She gathered her dress and rose to her feet. She smiled and flexed her muscles before making her way off stage.

Now that's a star.
