Tourists Capture "Loch Ness" Type Monster On Video

A man from British Columbia, Canada claims to have captured a mysterious sea monster - or lake monster, in this case - on video.

But experts have another theory to explain the his bizarre footage.

David Halbauer and his brother Keith were relaxing with their wives at Bear Creek Provincial Park last week.

David was the first one to spot something unusual offshore, but soon all four of them were watching (and filming) the unexplained phenomena.

In David's footage, which is the clearest of the bunch, viewers can see what looks to be a long, snake-like creature near the surface of the lake.

The brothers say they were "stunned" by what was happening before their eyes.

"When you're sitting on the beach on a sunny day, you don't expect to see a dinosaur coming out of the water," he told Global News.

Halbauer guessed the creature was too large to wrap his arms around, and at least 50 feet long. He also described it strange way of moving through the lake.

"It rolled up and down as it went in the water," he remembered. "Another lump of the same thing came up about five meters in front of it."

Two minutes after it first appeared, the brothers say the creature sank back into the water and vanished.

The sighting seems to match up with many descriptions of the famous Loch Ness Monster, which is described as having a horse or snake-like appearance.

British Columbia has its own legends about Ogopogo, a snake or dragon-type creature that reportedly lives in the province's lakes.

David compared what he saw to a dinosaur, but Keith admits he doesn't know what he was looking at.

"But then I saw waves behind it," he said. "The rest of the lake was calm. So, it's pretty neat."

Experts say that rogue waves caused by changing currents can sometimes form a bizarre ripple, which the brothers might have mistaken for the Ogopogo.

But for those who believe in the supernatural, the truth is out there, and this video is just even more proof.
